Black America Rising is a Detroit-based community development initiative promoting generational prosperity by centering love, marriage, and future generations.

We're also a start-up, founded by Detroit couple Jasahn Larsosa and Krystal Larsosa as an outgrowth of love, family, and commitment to the future of Black cities.

Jasahn is the original founder, inspired by two decades of experience community organizing and leading racial and social justice efforts including as Founding Director of Advocacy, Equity & Community Empowerment for the Detroit-based but nationally renowned civil rights and human services organization Focus: HOPE.

Krystal Larsosa, an experienced child and youth development professional, business owner, government leader and sometimes "housewife" and "stay-at-home-mom", serves as Founding Executive Director and oversees day-to-day operations of the organization with the support of a growing team of contractors and volunteers.
